Pearling

Maxima has been producing some of the finest Australian South Sea Pearls for more than thirty years from our pearl farms in the Kimberley and Pilbara region of Western Australia. At the height of the Australian pearling boom we were WA’s third largest pearl producer.

Our pearls are grown in the pristine waters of Cone Bay, located in the Buccaneer Archipelago approximately 260 kilometres north west of Broome.  This remote and untouched marine environment has massive tidal movements with naturally nutrient rich water at the ideal temperature to produce exceptional quality pearls.

Our decades of experience have set us up with the optimal grow-out sites and technical knowledge to maximise the size and quality of the pearls. Maxima’s Cone Bay site is remote enough to avoid any water quality contamination issues yet is still accessible for our dedicated staff and logistics support to operate efficiently.

In addition to producing spectacular pearls, we also harvest pearl meat which is a highly sought-after delicacy, and mother of pearl shells, sold under the Maxima Pearling Company and Cone Bay Pearls brands.
